hello, I am trying to install GCC version 3.3, but keep running into this error. I am running on Solaris 2.6 with a current gcc version 2.8.1. I have tried making the objdir under the main srcdir and in a separate location but keep running across this error: "INSTALL_SCRIPT=/bin/sh /net/monte/export/files/m03/GEF/GCC-3.3/gcc-3.3/install-sh -c" "LDFLAGS=" "LIBCFLAGS=-g -O2" "LIBCFLAGS_FOR_TARGET=-O2 -g -O2" "MAKE=make" "MAKEINFO=/net/monte/export/files/m03/GEF/GCC-3.3/gcc-3.3/missing makeinfo --no-split " "PICFLAG=" "PICFLAG_FOR_TARGET=" "SHELL=/bin/sh" "EXPECT=expect" "RUNTEST=runtest" "RUNTESTFLAGS=" "exec_prefix=/net/monte/export/files/m03/GEF/GCC-3.3/gcc-3.3/objdir" "infodir=/net/monte/export/files/m03/GEF/GCC-3.3/gcc-3.3/objdir/info" "libdir=/net/monte/export/files/m03/GEF/GCC-3.3/gcc-3.3/objdir/lib" "prefix=/net/monte/export/files/m03/GEF/GCC-3.3/gcc-3.3/objdir" "tooldir=/net/monte/export/files/m03/GEF/GCC-3.3/gcc-3.3/objdir/sparc-sun-solaris2.6" "AR=ar" "AS=as" "CC=gcc" "CXX=c++" "LD=ld" "LIBCFLAGS=-g -O2" "NM=nm" "PICFLAG=" "RANLIB=true" "DESTDIR=" DO=all multi-do make: Fatal error: Don't know how to make target `../gcc/doc/include/gcc-common.texi' I am not very familiar with UNIX or the processes of building a compiler so any help would be greatly appreciated.
