I'm sorry, there is no hint of what you are trying to do, so I can't figure out an alternative approach, (except perhaps using gcc 3.2.2 instead) If you would post a short description of what you are trying to do, and short example code that reproduces the problem, it will be much less difficult for someone to help you.
