Hello,

I have a fresh install of XP SP2 fully updated with only 
Office, Cygwin. and VirusScan installed.  When I try to 
start GAIM.EXE, nothing visibly happens.  I installed the 
debug version and am now getting the following output 
from starting GAIM.EXE from the command line:

Im not really sure why it isn't loading, maybe one of you 
have seen this before?

Hi.

I am guessing you have an incompatible tcl/tk install
somewhere in your path.  Likely MinGW or Cygwin.  This is
referred to as "DLL Hell" [1].  If you're not sure where
these tcl/tk dlls are located, then search your discs. 
Often I find a command prompt faster.

REM change to each drive manually, c: d: e: etc.
cd /d c:dir /s/o/a/p tcl84.dll tk84.dll

You should see it in cygwin or mingw or something, remove
that from your PATH environment variable.

If you want to run plugins written with Tcl/Tk then get it
from ActiveState.
