Oh, for the heck of it, I was mucking about with the Privacy settings,
as I had not done that in a long while.
It was on "Allow only the users below", which had a subset of the users
on my buddy list. I just wanted to sync up the allowed users with the
ones on my buddy list. I figured the best option was to clear all users
from the "only users below" list, then change the privacy option to
"Allow only the users on my buddy list". Well, there are MSN users on
my buddy list, but either I am blocking them or they are blocking me, I
have no idea. Gaim just says "Has you: Yes, Blocked: Yes". Who is
blocking who is unclear. By my Privacy settings, I should not be
blocking them. Is this a Gaim/MSN/privacy bug, or user error? Is it
possible that I may have inadvertently ticked off their client and they
block me now? Or is my config file screwed so bad that it's blocking
them? The people have mostly been away or idle, and I'm on good terms,
so it's not like I did anything. ;-) How can I test and get more data
about what's going on? How can I fix? Or will they have to manually
reset their clients? Would I have to send email to them?
Thanks,
Leif
