For some reason the man files are not installed on Kubuntu 7.10 and I can't find any trace of them by searching aptitude. > And I was able to use those in GIMP. Thanks to your confirmation, I had another look and I had screwed up my symlink to the ttc file (I put links in ~/.fonts) - so I fixed it and it's working.
