and find a problem, something that doesn't work to your satisfaction, or a reported bug. Examine the code to find a likely place to hack on to cure the ill, create a patch.

Join an upstream list, ask for help, maybe ask for a mentor, ask for comments on your patch.


Don't expect to understand all of xen before you do something, but there's bound to be little bits that you can attack and learn.
