No-one > seems to sell 1920x1080 displays smaller than 21.5", or higher > resolution displays at that size or larger (any more). Your display - Sad, isn't it? It's a chicken/egg problem. Marketers don't want to build much of what people don't want to buy. When higher was more or less readily available (1680x1050 & 1920x1200 rather than small 1366x768 TVs marketed as puter displays), plenty people were unhappy that their fancy newer bigger displays were making desktop objects smaller and harder to see. High resolution reality on the desktop display market is being held back by absence of resolution independence in DTEs, while resolution independence in DTEs is being held back in part by dearth of high resolution desktop displays available at reasonable cost (if at all) to both FOSS and non-FOSS programmers and DTE designers. > which sounds rather like an IBM T210 or Dell P1130, yes? - hasn't been > available for rather a long time. Like, but not. The T210 is LCD, nice as it is, would be no good to my resolution switching to test test test and test some more. The P1130 is probably a twin to my twin P275s and near twin to P260. All three I got only about three years ago at a gummint auction on a pallet of mostly 19" Trinitrons for $35. Used are still around, but new is probably near dodo territory, available only to the few who demand color accuracy and are willing and able to pay very big to get it. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
