Right, I wanted to keep the original desktop use case intact, while leaving room to capture whether the function works as intended. As proposed, I felt it compliments the original criteria, without taking anything away. I was hoping to avoid getting into whether the function was triggered from the console and such, I liked keeping it coupled to the preferred desktop procedure, rather than redefining the procedural entry points. What were you thinking? Something more aligned with the purpose/intent of systemd/sysV? Thanks, James
