hi,
thank you for your replies

Hi,
nm will use dhclient if configured.

how?

So, first enable nm and configure your interface (DSL, I assume):

no, the modem is connecting through dsl to the isp, i'm on the dhcp side of the moon :)

Look at your nm config data (find your DSL interface ...):
Example for my eth0:
# less /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth0

nothing special in ifcfg-eth0

...
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
DEFROUTE=yes
...
PEERROUTES=yes
...

# route -n
Kernel IP routing table

this gives no default route, unless i run dhclient by hand ...
so that's the problem, nm does not set the default route .

everything else seems to be ok: i have dns, and i can ping thw gateway.

You should have enuf to think about.

JB

thanks again
