I wasn't thinking. I've just realized while the plymouth lock-up can't have anything to do with this, the other lock-up (after resume) seems to mostly involve firefox having the focus. Hmmm, I might try not using Firefox for a while and see if the crashes persist. There was a recent mesa bug that seemed to involve firefox and compiz and I can't help but wonder if there isn't still some issues here too. Any suggestions how I could get useful debug for this.
