Use the above with whatever media you used to boot from for an
installation/upgrade.

That should be on an installer boot menu which showed up on your
screen.  Really not there?  Hm, I have no idea how this looks for
LiveCD but that is a "rescue" environment on its own.

the rescue option is on netinst menu. also, it is said that the first of the instalation cd's has it too.

the cd's can be downloaded from mirrors, like this:

ftp://ftp.iasi.roedu.net/mirrors/fedora.redhat.com/fedora/12/Fedora/i386/iso/Fedora-12-i386-netinst.iso

choose a mirror close to you.
