  that's a valid point, but it makes me wonder -- how *did* i stumble
across that iso?  it's here:

but i have no idea how i came to know about it.  i'd never even
*heard* of that "alt" subdomain.  so how did i come across it?
strange.

  and, just my personal opinion, if something is "officially" tagged
as an RC2 (as it clearly is based on the name of the URL), i think it
should have RC2 embedded in the iso name somewhere.  it's not a
massive effort, and it would prevent inevitable confusion down the
road.  witness this thread as an example. :-)
