also set up authentication with System -> Administration -> Authentication, checking "Enable Fingerprint reader Support" (strange that with this disabled I got the button in gnome-about-me before updating fprintd... ) Then reboot the pc (without kexec but normally). The situation doesn't change; no button in gnome-about-me running it directly from command line with strace I can see these lines if I grep "finger" or "fprint" words, but I don't know if they are relevant for debugging. Eventually I can attach full strace log open("/var/lib/PolicyKit-public/org.freedesktop.hal.device-access.fingerprint-reader.defaults-override", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) stat("/usr/share/PolicyKit/policy/net.reactivated.fprint.device.policy", {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=1416, ...}) = 0 open("/usr/share/PolicyKit/policy/net.reactivated.fprint.device.policy", O_RDONLY) = 28 open("/var/lib/PolicyKit-public/net.reactivated.fprint.device.verify.defaults-override", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) open("/var/lib/PolicyKit-public/net.reactivated.fprint.device.enroll.defaults-override", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) open("/var/lib/PolicyKit-public/net.reactivated.fprint.device.setusername.defaults-override", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) stat("/etc/pam.d/gdm-fingerprint", 0x7fffd452d580) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) Gianluca -- fedora-test-list mailing list fedora-test-list@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-test-list
