If you really mean to say that "normal users do not use custom
partitions layouts" then I know mostly "abnormal" users.
What I considered being an end user is a user that choose to do default
next next install.

anaconda has troubles handling that then it is even worse broken
than I was afraid of.
Well if you haven't tried how can you think that anaconda is broken for
your usage case.
