I have an ATI Radeon 9500 pro, Your lucky I just get the fedora message. I left it for an hour solid and still had no luck.

What kind of video card do you have?

Did you try booting with the nomodeset kernel parameter?

(I have similar symptoms with my ATI 9200 when I don't use nomodeset.
The system eventually boots into X, but the screen is black until X starts
and vt's don't work. With nomodeset things work fine.)
