You want the yum "choose-your-own-adventure" branch.

$ yum update
...
Downloading packages...
Should yum download packages:
    a) alphabetically
    b) by ascending size
    c) by descending size
    d) based on length of characters in the package name
    e) randomly, using your GPS location as the random seed
    f) spin its wheels indefinitely because more time was spent
       coding this silly option than fixing real bugs
...
Defaulting to option F. Thanks for using the "choose your own
adventure" build of yum. Please come back soon.

;-)
