Wine is a reimplementation of the Windows API. It is not an emulator.

Yes that's true.

Just my addition to those "where the problem is not". Tried nv, nouveau, nvidia drivers. The results are more or less the same, no significant difference.

During this I found however there is a big influence of this bug in ondemand scaler: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4379
It hits a complete system performance however.
