Incidentally I have also chrooted into my F11 installation from
F10. I've tested everything I wrote about in a real F11 session, but I
noticed that I do get the DNS resolving problem in the chroot
environment, too. In that case, the system is running the F10 kernel,
so the problem does not appear to be specific to the F11 kernel. I'm
not sure what happens with glibc in the chroot environment.
