The original was "x86_64" but comment #3 says that the same
happens for 32-bit kernels too. In particular do you see
"DRM Command submission failure -22" in logs for X?

No errors like that in X logs.
Jut now reinstalled rawhide gdm and failures again occurred. Reverted
to gdm-2.23.2-1.fc10.i386 and now the only problem is the sporadic hang
with udev.
Earlier, reverting gdm did not work, had to revert the ati driver. But
again, current kernel is not the one the errors originally showed up under.
