You have two input devices
1. Monitor Source of ALSA PCM on front:0 (VT1708 Analog) via DMA
2. ALSA PCM on front:0 (VT1708 Analog via DMA

Which one needs to be be set  "default"  ??

Try both start with 2 option :)

No. 2 option is set to "default" , but no sound.
Why doesn't the PCM setting show in Alsamixer  ?

And you have tried the other one right?
