Thanks! I downloaded the latest and hope that it does not loop with
tossed event which came in late

error which is why I held back to the December 17th version.

That error is about input.  The video driver should not make any
difference.

The driver for ati did make a difference, I just updated the report with the below linked attachment.

The error started happening around Mid December so I reverted the ati driver with success.

The only external input device I have is a USB mouse. The USB mouse is not functional but is attached anyway. The other input devices are the synaptics touchpad and the built-in keyboard.

xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.7.196-6.fc9 was used for the test. I cannot easily go back to older drivers since they do not work any longer.

I'll disconnect the USB mouse to see if it still locks up.
