I find all the PAE kernels hang for me too.   I was going to search around bugzilla and see
if anyone has opened up a bug for it.

Subject: device-mapper

Upgraded from stable fc5 to rawhide yesterday and the new kernels 2108
and 2211 hangs at "device-mapper initalised".
Downgraded lvm2 and device-mapper to
device-mapper-1.02.02-3.2.i386.rpm
lvm2-2.02.01-1.2.1.i386.rpm (the versions released with fc5)
and rebuilt the initrds without results (still hangs after device-mapper
initalised).

Downgrading rmraid and device-mapper-multipath to
dmraid-1.0.0.rc9-FC5_5.2.i386.rpm
device-mapper-multipath-0.4.5-12.2.i386.rpm (this was a crapshoot) and
rebuilding the initrd resulted in the kernel haning after "making
device-mapper node".

Any pointers as to what I should do next?
