If what's being described is disk i/o asscotiated with the bitmaps
loading.. perhaps the answer is simply to be sneaky and have the
screensaver run a blank screen until all the associated disk i/o for
the screenie images is done.

What would be the best way for n0dalus  to instrument up the
screensaver so that he could be sure its disk i/o related to the
bitmaps being loaded into memory?
