What reasoning lies behind the choice of version numbering for the new X.Org X11R7.0 packages in rawhide.

FC4 updates-released used: xorg-x11-6.8.2-37.FC4.49.2
FC5 test1 development uses: xorg-x11-apps-1.0.0-1

Wont this would confuse many who will be getting R7.0 (now released) ?

What was earlier big chunks of monolithic packages have now been split up into several hundreds of modular packages. The entire list is available from http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Xorg/Modularization. Information about this is also included within the release notes. http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Docs/Beats/Xorg
