--------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Test Update Notification FEDORA-2005-649 2005-07-28 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Product : Fedora Core 3 Name : gimp Version : 2.2.8 Release : 0.fc3.2 Summary : The GNU Image Manipulation Program. Description : The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a powerful image composition and editing program, which can be extremely useful for creating logos and other graphics for webpages. The GIMP has many of the tools and filters you would expect to find in similar commercial offerings, and some interesting extras as well. The GIMP provides a large image manipulation toolbox, including channel operations and layers, effects, sub-pixel imaging and anti-aliasing, and conversions, all with multi-level undo. The GIMP includes a scripting facility, but many of the included scripts rely on fonts that we cannot distribute. The GIMP FTP site has a package of fonts that you can install by yourself, which includes all the fonts needed to run the included scripts. Some of the fonts have unusual licensing requirements; all the licenses are documented in the package. Get ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/fonts/freefonts-0.10.tar.gz and ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/fonts/sharefonts-0.10.tar.gz if you are so inclined. Alternatively, choose fonts which exist on your system before running the scripts. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: I plan to push this update final within a week. --------------------------------------------------------------------- * Thu Jul 28 2005 Nils Philippsen <nphilipp@xxxxxxxxxx> - fix gimptool manpage symlink * Mon Jul 25 2005 Nils Philippsen <nphilipp@xxxxxxxxxx> - 2.2.8 - version 2.2.8 - clean up file list generation a bit - gimptool manpage is in section 1 not 5 * Fri May 13 2005 Nils Philippsen <nphilipp@xxxxxxxxxx> - fix inline asm of MMX/SSE optimizations instead of using -mmmx and the like * Fri May 13 2005 Nils Philippsen <nphilipp@xxxxxxxxxx> - fix cpuinstructionset patch so that it actually uses CPU-specific optimizations * Wed May 11 2005 Nils Philippsen <nphilipp@xxxxxxxxxx> - use -mmmx/sse/sse2/... only for the relevant source files so that extended instruction sets only get used on suitable CPUs (#157409) * Mon May 9 2005 Nils Philippsen <nphilipp@xxxxxxxxxx> - version 2.2.7, fixes bug in SSE2 assembly for Lighten Only layer mode (#145771) and various other bugs - on x86 and x86_64, use -msse and -msse2 to accomodate newer compilers --------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be downloaded from: http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/testing/3/ 9d144aab2c5f98b038f8331886167c7d SRPMS/gimp-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.src.rpm 63c98d4e5e037cd437b8355d7ca80f29 x86_64/gimp-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.x86_64.rpm e3e7fbcd95955cc06c3caa5857146831 x86_64/gimp-devel-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.x86_64.rpm d13a7008435f7fe1034f43d3f31e55c4 x86_64/debug/gimp-debuginfo-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.x86_64.rpm 62ecd172fb607a1f95b55d6bdc468156 i386/gimp-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.i386.rpm d0147dc25f4223bbd12b0abd33d13684 i386/gimp-devel-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.i386.rpm b622fa3ba7b26789f789b2a4e7f20930 i386/debug/gimp-debuginfo-2.2.8-0.fc3.2.i386.rpm This update can also be installed with the Update Agent; you can launch the Update Agent with the 'up2date' command.
