--------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Test Update Notification FEDORA-2005-512 2005-07-01 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Product : Fedora Core 3 Name : kernel Version : 2.6.12 Release : 1.1369_FC3 Summary : The Linux kernel (the core of the Linux operating system) Description : The kernel package contains the Linux kernel (vmlinuz), the core of any Linux operating system. The kernel handles the basic functions of the operating system: memory allocation, process allocation, device input and output, etc. This rebase to 2.6.12.2 touches a *lot* of code, so needs quite a bit of testing before I'm comfortable to push this out as an official FC3 update. However at the same time, FC3 has been deprived of updates for a while, so this shouldn't languish in -testing longer than necessary. Of particular interest to look out for in this test kernel are any SELinux/audit warnings that appear. The latest policy updates for FC3 seem to be safe from my limited testing so far, but it could be that there's something missing that made it into the FC4 branch only. Have fun.. --------------------------------------------------------------------- * Fri Jul 1 2005 Dave Jones <davej@xxxxxxxxxx> - 2.6.12.2 --------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be downloaded from: http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/testing/3/ 57d72676e97055f03810bb7a93fb2a45 SRPMS/kernel-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.src.rpm 6f42034ace76ef4204e0e1257d428ede x86_64/kernel-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.x86_64.rpm 589488cc569816df96c1646261853d88 x86_64/kernel-devel-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.x86_64.rpm 149ba9d8c1e5b6e1272b87018e1cfa65 x86_64/kernel-smp-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.x86_64.rpm 904ad91b87ff93400b0fc129a7626e40 x86_64/kernel-smp-devel-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.x86_64.rpm b68086d6e301fdcec0a9d75f4c3bcb4b x86_64/debug/kernel-debuginfo-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.x86_64.rpm 62af5c607edb75d8805e06b2f10bb30d x86_64/kernel-doc-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.noarch.rpm dc5092357f2dc3858e7ecb95fd1050cf i386/kernel-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.i586.rpm 07c816b2621236c1374f92236be260aa i386/kernel-devel-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.i586.rpm 28bdf5fd22ecf3171a2bc3b9706b5c33 i386/debug/kernel-debuginfo-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.i586.rpm c5caa08e561c709f0a39d7e81173bd07 i386/kernel-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.i686.rpm ba0d29151b526ec7b6e2063ec19d33f1 i386/kernel-devel-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.i686.rpm 03de1a298425eb3f48530dfe292d16ac i386/kernel-smp-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.i686.rpm 6134122327aabea84714da86b3975b55 i386/kernel-smp-devel-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.i686.rpm 50019e51b924b78f4718323efeb9b80e i386/debug/kernel-debuginfo-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.i686.rpm 62af5c607edb75d8805e06b2f10bb30d i386/kernel-doc-2.6.12-1.1369_FC3.noarch.rpm This update can also be installed with the Update Agent; you can launch the Update Agent with the 'up2date' command.
