I downloaded the latest kernel from kernel.org, and have a completely up2date (pun intended) fc3 install. I have copied /boot/config-2.6.9-1.667 to .config, ran "make menuconfig", made no changes, but exited and answered "yes" to the "save changes?" prompt, and then ran "make bzImage". I get this and can go no further: CC [M] drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/ql2300.o CC [M] drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/ql2300_fw.o CC [M] drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/ql2322.o CC [M] drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/ql2322_fw.o CC [M] drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/qla_os.o drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/qla_os.c: In function `qla2x00_queuecommand': drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/qla_os.c:315: sorry, unimplemented: inlining failed in call to 'qla2x00_callback': function not considered for inlining drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/qla_os.c:269: sorry, unimplemented: called from here drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/qla_os.c:315: sorry, unimplemented: inlining failed in call to 'qla2x00_callback': function not considered for inlining drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/qla_os.c:269: sorry, unimplemented: called from here make[3]: *** [drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/qla_os.o] Error 1 make[2]: *** [drivers/scsi/qla2xxx] Error 2 make[1]: *** [drivers/scsi] Error 2 make: *** [drivers] Error 2 gcc -v tells me: gcc version 3.4.2 20041017 (Red Hat 3.4.2-6.fc3) Is anyone else seeing this? And what can I do to compile a kernel in these parts?
