I am running a clean install of Fedora Core 3 RC5, and would like
assistance on getting yum update to work. My current error message is
Setting up Update Process
Setting up Repo: base
Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: base
look in /etc/yum.repos.d/*.repo and/or /etc/yum.conf for a [base] repo
see if there is no baseurl or no mirrorlist option under [base]
if not, put one, if there is one, see what it is resolving to.
yum -d 4 [command]
will often help to know more about the problem.
-sv
I am afraid I don't understand what is meant by [base]. I have four
files in yum
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 233 Oct 28 10:34 fedora-devel.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 244 Oct 28 10:34 fedora.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 279 Nov 1 12:43 fedora-updates.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 282 Oct 28 10:34 fedora-updates-testing.repo
my yum.conf looks like
[main]
cachedir=/var/cache/yum
debuglevel=2
logfile=/var/log/yum.log
pkgpolicy=newest
distroverpkg=redhat-release
tolerant=1
exactarch=1
retries=20
obsoletes=1
gpgcheck=0
# PUT YOUR REPOS HERE OR IN separate files named file.repo
# in /etc/yum.repos.d
