On my F34 system, the latest Lenovo firmware updates don't seem to apply. Reboot happens, but the firmware update process doesn't. Is anyone else seeing this? I don't have anything complicated — no dual boot, and I haven't messed with anything related to booting or EFI, and this _was_ working initially. How do I further diagnose and fix? >From `sudo fwupdmgr get-history`: 20U9CTO1WW │ [...] ├─Embedded Controller: │ │ Device ID: 0b3db288d2c013fcac57525c52aa6dc2c9934157 │ │ Previous version: 0.1.6 │ │ Update State: Success │ │ Last modified: 2020-11-09 18:37 │ │ GUID: 1ebe8ad3-3d40-4178-92ce-bbb3d0906332 │ │ Device Flags: • Internal device │ │ • Updatable │ │ • System requires external power source │ │ • Supported on remote server │ │ • Needs a reboot after installation │ │ • Device is usable for the duration of the update │ │ │ └─ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 /X1 Yoga Gen 5 Embedded Controller Update: │ New version: 0.1.08 │ Remote ID: lvfs │ Summary: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 /X1 Yoga Gen 5 Embedded Controller Firmware │ License: Proprietary │ Size: 767.1 kB │ Created: 2020-09-22 │ Urgency: High │ Vendor: Lenovo Ltd. │ Description: │ Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 /X1 Yoga Gen 5 Embedded Controller Firmware │ │ Fixed an issue where ThinkVision T24m-10 monitor might not connected properly. │ ├─Intel Management Engine: │ │ Device ID: f84b617c1c8e86d5a85e12fd7c530ac38897b081 │ │ Previous version: 224.45.1389 │ │ Update State: Failed │ │ Update Error: failed to run update on reboot │ │ Last modified: 2021-07-27 15:21 │ │ GUID: 216e4407-43ff-4b84-9929-a1807761b1a0 │ │ Device Flags: • Internal device │ │ • Updatable │ │ • System requires external power source │ │ • Supported on remote server │ │ • Needs a reboot after installation │ │ • Device is usable for the duration of the update │ │ │ └─ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 /X1 Yoga Gen 5 Consumer ME Update: │ New version: 225.53.1649 │ Remote ID: lvfs │ Summary: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 /X1 Yoga Gen 5 Consumer ME Firmware │ License: Proprietary │ Size: 3.4 MB │ Created: 2021-04-23 │ Urgency: High │ Details: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/de/en/search?query=N2WRN11W │ Vendor: Lenovo Ltd. │ Flags: is-upgrade │ Description: │ Lenovo ThinkPad X1CarbonGen8 X1YogaGen5 Corporate MEFirmware. This stable release fixes the following issues *14.0 Intel ThinkPad Platform Update Version 14.1.53.1649 to Fixed intel security issue. │ └─System Firmware: │ Device ID: 6f1acb499f6e604cfd7563f33d04f26ecdd07138 │ Previous version: 0.1.15 │ Update State: Failed │ Update Error: failed to run update on reboot │ Last modified: 2021-07-27 15:21 │ GUID: 31245a58-b272-4776-9398-3df5e8b532db │ Device Flags: • Internal device │ • Updatable │ • System requires external power source │ • Supported on remote server │ • Needs a reboot after installation │ • Cryptographic hash verification is available │ • Device is usable for the duration of the update │ └─ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 /X1 Yoga Gen 5 System Update: New version: 0.1.17 Remote ID: lvfs Summary: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 /X1 Yoga Gen 5 System Firmware License: Proprietary Size: 25.0 MB Created: 2020-07-01 Vendor: Lenovo Ltd.
