Was a new kernel installed as part of the update?  Can you boot to an
older kernel? It is possible that the drivers aren't compatible with the
kernel you are running, especially if it was installed as part of the
update.

Were the drivers updated as part of the overall update?  You might have
to manually download and downgrade them if the older kernel doesn't
work.
