For some reason my reply didn't make it to the list.  At least, I
didn't receive it.  So, I'm copying this back to the test list.

Then, lxde is not installed, no matter what dnf says.

What if you do a dnf group remove lxde to remove any cruft left over.
Then try to do the group install again.

It shouldn't be this, but you could try to rebuild the rpm database,
rpm --rebuilddb
as root of course.
