Ralf,

I'm using GNOME3 desktop together with nautilus. This shows oversized
icons whose size is unreduceable. See attachment!

If on the other hand running my box with Cinnamon DE (in F22 too), the
iconcs are presented with normal reduceable size (as in F21).

Perhaps what you described is an additional (nautilus) problem.
