you have :
man xorg.conf and xorg.conf.d

for Nvidia nonfree drives you still use it, I think 

locate xorg.conf 

/usr/share/man/man5/xorg.conf.5.gz
/usr/share/man/man5/xorg.conf.d.5.gz
