I might have missed something, but is XFCE really non-blocking for ARM? I remember someone saying that XFCE is the most important desktop for them. (and also that GNOME doesn't work almost anywhere).

It's not the "most important" but more the most preferred of ARM users. We decided at the QA Live meeting at Flock that we would use the standard primary desktops with the focus on KDE as it's know to work well on ARM as well and it allows standard QA procedure across x86 and ARM.
