I was hoping you guys were already collecting information, or that a datapoint could be added to existing tests. Identifying things like the memory required to complete a default installation, or the base graphics hardware required to run gnome-shell without mashing the keyboard in frustration and moving to another distro, or a recommended figure for available storage using the default packageset and a comfortable amount of room.
As I said that's entirely up to the installer and historically it has been inflating/deflating on those memory requirements followed by crapping itself out in front of users when that requirement was not met.
Last time I checked it had gone up to 768 at one point then down to 384 I would assume with the recent rework it should be smaller than that but then again I also had expected the installer to be faster to install with the recent rework ( which most certainly does not feel that way )
Just ask the Anaconda guys ( or check for it in their code ) what the limit is when they display that lack of minimal memory requirements to users which will set the minimum, medium *DE requirements is probably 1GHz cpu with 2GB ram optimal or "best experience" highest quad core cpu with atleast 4GB - 8GB ram and an SSD depending on what we are aiming at ( like workstation vs steam gaming rig etc )
