Took the kde desktop for a spin, looks good. yum was broken though, could not update / install packages. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chuck Forsberg WA7KGX N2469R" <caf@xxxxxxxx> To: "For testing and quality assurance of Fedora releases" <test@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, September 1, 2012 4:06:38 AM Subject: Re: [Test-Announce] Fedora 18 Alpha Test Compose 5 (TC5) Available Now! The first few tries installing TC5 with Son of Suse installer stalled with a cursor on a black screen. After a few tries I was able to install a KDE desktop. Son of Suse Anaconda did not seem to want to install gnome or xfce. I was disappointed to find no choice for Mate. I don't know how long this load will keep running but at least it is showing signs of life. I do believe custom disk partitioning should be working reliably before official Alpha release. -- Chuck Forsberg WA7KGX N2469R caf@xxxxxxxx www.omen.com Developer of Industrial ZMODEM(Tm) for Embedded Applications Omen Technology Inc "The High Reliability Software" 10255 NW Old Cornelius Pass Portland OR 97231 503-614-0430 -- test mailing list test@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/test -- test mailing list test@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/test
