Just decide on a list of reasonable packages to install, maybe do away with the "Customize Now" option all together. Also, may as well drop support for adding additional repos during the install process. In the scheme of things, it doesn't increase the time needed to get the system to where you want it. For example, the network download time for updates will be the same no matter when you do the update. And those coming from the Windows side will be pleasantly surprised that a new install doesn't have the "update--reboot---update---reboot---update....." cycle. For one off installs it just means a few more steps. The more experienced users know how to do it. And, the novice probably will eventually figure it out. If you do many installs you have kickstart where you can do anything you want. I'm sure that plenty of discussion and consideration has gone on behind the scenes to reach this point. There is one thing I do wonder about...and will have to do an install to check it....but I wonder if there isn't a better way to inform users of where to get post install support. I think that the default home page for firefox is http://start.fedoraproject.org/ and I know you can click on "Get Help" and then read the next page and find item #3. I just wonder if there isn't a better way to inform new users of their "support" options.
