So, if the trend of the future is to use the new grub2 multiboot stuff instead of chain loading, shouldn't there be some way to tell grub2-install: "Hey, I want you to install in this partition so I can make you a multiboot target". As near as I can tell, the way grub2-install works now, you have to use the --force option to make it try and use blocklists to install in a partition, and that's the only option for installing in a partition rather than the MBR.
