setting default monitor on multi-monitor setup and debugging acpi(?)

Hi,

I've just installed F17 from beta DVD. I just have 2 issues.

1) How do I set default/primary monitor?

I'd like to have my VGA as primary and DVI as secondary. I can't seem
to adapt [1] to make fit my hardware above.

[root@fedora ~]# ls /etc/X11
applnk fontpath.d prefdm xinit Xmodmap xorg.conf.d Xresources

Where would the xorg.conf would be? Can't find it within /etc.

2) If I have acpi=off, /dev/sr0 shows up. If I omit from the kernel
command line, it doesn't :( and I get this

[root@fedora X11]# egrep -i '(sata|ata8|ahci)' /var/log/messages

How can debug acpi and possibly fix it so it can identify my LG
GH24NS90 DVD+RW properly on ata8? Using various kernel command line
parameters from [2] yielded very undesirable results such as system
freezes on bootup (except for acpi=off).

TIA,
Tommy
