The AHCI are set on my new Gigabyte mobo. (I only tested the F17 beta on GX280 just to make sure that the GUI install process should work.) Side note, I think there's like 3 SATA chip for that Gigabyte mobo: 1 AMD SB950 (4 SATA ports) and 2 x Marvell 88SE9172 chips (2 internal + 2 eSATA). I also remembering seeing that the kernel did detect that Marvell chip. I'll check on the messages later when I get home to get the details.
