For over a month now, there have been a large number of broken xorg
dependencies in Rawhide. I've tried using yum --skip-broken with
distro-sync, update, and upgrade. X starts but the login prompt never
appears, forcing me to use text (multiuser) mode. Is there a simple fix
(say manually removing or downgrading some package)?

Have you tries to run startx from init 3?
In case this is whats happening to you.

I can't get X to start at all.
