Does it mean that my cpu is having > issues or is it a microcode_ctl issue still? I don't know. The workaround would be to disable that service, though I'm not sure if you can manage that from a live CD. Interactive boot is probably broken these days, I don't know if systemd implements anything like it. The bug here probably isn't really that microcode_ctl fails, but that the failure is fatal to boot - it shouldn't be. Microcode updating should be entirely optional and if it fails, boot should just continue. It's entirely possible this is what happens in F15, if you look at it carefully. Looks like this is filed as https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=715118 . Ah - which also gives a hint to avoid it: blacklist the 'microcode' module. That should be possible from the bootloader, I think. -- Adam Williamson Fedora QA Community Monkey IRC: adamw | Fedora Talk: adamwill AT fedoraproject DOT org http://www.happyassassin.net -- test mailing list test@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/test
