Zoneminder package [1] in Fedora has several packagers listed but only one packager has been updating for several years gone by, and upstream development had all but stopped, then the upstream maintainer [2] released the code base to several interested community members that have transformed it into a community driven project on github.[3] A stable new release has been available for a while now and numerous bugs have been fixed upline including a Fedora 19 spec file .New features and UI are work in progess to modernise the code, is ongoing. This includes bounty for some features that require a lot of work and bug fixes. Several bugs for the current version have been filed into Bugzilla without action including the availability of the new stable version. What is the correct way to rectify this situation and either have the package built by another Fedora packager or be sponsored to a Fedora packager myself. It was suggested that I sit on the irc channel for info and sponsorship but this is not an efficient option and would only work when time and place permits. Please point me to the correct procedures to be able to carry this out. IMHO It would be a loss to the Fedora community if this package was not part of Fedora and was taken to another repository and/or the Fedora support files dropped from the community supported git.
