Yes, I understand this. The problem is that upstream developer uses cbang
as a static library in his projects. The shared library build appeared due 
to the demand from other people and it was done with minimal effort to achieve. 
So basically, if someone split it into sub-libraries, it would not be an
upstream developer.

I could do this but I would like first to get through the whole package
maintenance procedures, so I will get an experience that could give me a 
better view.

It would be nice of course as it extends the target audience. However, if that
would require any customisation (e.g. build fails on ELN, so RHEL has no 
python3-scons as well, obviously) then I prefer to postpone this a bit due 
to the reason I wrote above.
