This package provides a C++ library and a C library (libvpd_cxx and libvpd respectively). On my system, rpmbuild does not fill out the Provides section so when I would install something that depended on either of these I would get unsatisfied dependency errors. pkgconfig Requires and .pc files will be fixed in the next release.
