It looks like, in

mrcpp obliviously byte-copies an MRNode<D> into and out of a file. This is a
nontrivial data structure
(https://github.com/MRChemSoft/mrcpp/blob/0e079a929794aa0c135c8016c9aa4995f3376c58/src/trees/MWNode.h#L157)
and I wouldn’t expect round-trips through these .tree files to work across
platforms in general. Fortunately, I don’t think the library’s tests expect
that to work.
