It's worth mentioning that this library is the basis for the C++20 extensions
for chrono:
https://github.com/HowardHinnant/date#standardization
So I think the generic name is fine.

Maybe renaming to `libdate` would make it clear that it's a library? Do other
distros already package the library? If so, with what name?
