But boot.efi as a symlink doesn't work. There is no need for blessing at all. Blessing /boot/efi/.VolumeIcon.icns works just fine. Placing all the mactel-boot files on the FAT EFI system partition also works (almost (or exactly?) like a boot loader at /EFI/BOOT/bootx64.efi would). Tentative conclusion for _this_ machine: There is no need for blessing, and using a package just to copy 2 files and create a dummy is overkill. Better conclusion: Apples are very different and nothing can be known for sure. DMI: Apple Inc.
