Yes, indeed. It's important, as similar versioned shared libraries provided by
more than one package would cause associated binaries to clash and potentially
misbehaving. This is nicely documented over

Do I need to include a:

rm -f %{buildroot}%{_libdir}/code-editor/lib*.so.1

In my %install section?
