Once that said i'm not sure how it can be useful; specially if yafaray needs to writte it's own configuration and content data. You can look at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=458090 for some discution with the blender maintainer. On your side, did you have improved the yafaray package.
